The New Zealand Carnatic Music
Society (NZCMS) congratulates the students of the society for their
achievements in the music exams it has hosted over the past years. Today NZCMS has reached a milestone, and we
are proud to present to you our very own Carnatic Music Syllabus and
Examinations. We assure you of not only high quality music performances by
world renowned artistes, but of examinations that are also of high quality and
are run under the patronage of musicians of great caliber. NZCMS recognizes
that teachers are the authority in music and the foundation of a students music
career. Thus our syllabus and examinations are driven by the teachers
themselves.

You can further your music education by joining the
affiliated organization, the University
of Madras, Chennai, India to achieve
Master of Carnatic Music à PhD in Carnatic Music

Cross
crediting exercise will take place soon after the new syllabus is released.
·
The
Panel of Teachers will compare the old and new syllabus and derive a cross
credit chart.
·
Students
will placed in the Stages of the new system based on the Cross Credit Chart.
·
Students
will be informed by their teacher once their stage is finalized.
·
Cross
Crediting ONLY applies to
those students who have done their music
exams through the New Zealand Carnatic Music Society until, and including the
year 2006.
